217: Food, flying and false teeth with Daniel Varani

217: Food, flying and false teeth with Daniel Varani

Is booze really stronger when you're on a flight? What did Diana Ross allegedly try to smuggle on Concorde? And is it ever OK to put cheddar in a spaghetti carbonara? Answering all these questions is one of our favourite people - it's Daniel Varani!

He tells us all about his 15 years working as an air steward, from the weird things passengers leave on their food trays to dealing with people trying to join the mile-high club. Then we chat about Daniel's experience of growing up in London with Italian parents, and how food helped keep him connected to his mum in lockdown. He reveals his authentic bolognese recipe, and blows our minds by sharing the proper way to put parmesan on pasta. We finish off with some Scummy Mummy Confessions, including one from our very own Godfather.

Daniel's brilliant book, Danny's Kitchen, is available now. You can follow him on Instagram @dannyskitchen_hove.
